Today, I took a drive—well, a journey really—across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to the beautiful town of Southlake, Texas. I had the pleasure of visiting the Rotary Club of Southlake, who meet at the historic White’s Chapel Methodist Church—est. 1871, and steeped in so much story and spirit you can feel it the moment you arrive. 🕊️✨
I arrived early (a rare win!), and took that time to walk the grounds… and wow. Yes, it’s a church, but there’s something uniquely peaceful about this property. I can’t quite put it into words, but if it weren’t for the 1.5-hour drive, I’d be here regularly. 🌿🏞️

Now to the challenge… 🎙️ The Club asked me to combine two of my most requested talks:
1️⃣ Living Abroad
2️⃣ From Flatline to Frontline
Each is 30 minutes individually—but together, I had just 20–25 minutes. 💡 CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
It meant I couldn’t go into every detail I normally love to explore, but the thoughtful questions afterward made it so worth it. Grateful for the conversations that followed. 💬✨
Now let’s talk FOOD 🍽️ (because you know I had to 😄):
The lunch was packaged and ready to go—which, after a long day and a detour to check on my horses, was a gift from above. I devoured a hearty meatloaf with creamy mac & cheese and a fresh salad. I meant to take a photo, but… hunger won. You’ll just have to take my word for it—delicious! 🤤🐴
Before heading home, they recommended I check out Southlake Town Square — designed in the charming style of Back to the Future. I drove by but knew better than to stop… that place deserves a full day and a strong budget 😂 But I will be back—especially during the holiday season, which I hear is pure magic. 🎄✨
🌟 Thank you, Rotary Club of Southlake, for the warm welcome, meaningful challenge, and wonderful hospitality. Until next time! 💙
