Kicking Off May Speaker Series

esterday, I had the pleasure of visiting a town I’d never been to before: Melissa, Texas! I was invited to speak at the Melissa Rotary Club, and what a fantastic way to kick off a month of new places and fresh conversations.

The Rotary Club held their meeting at The Athletic Club at the Z-Complex, which is hands-down one of the most impressive sports facilities I’ve ever seen. From indoor batting cages to outdoor football, baseball, and tennis fields — the place was enormous and full of energy.

Their group of 15 members (yes, I did a quick count!) was so welcoming and genuinely curious. I spoke about networking with intention, shared stories from my international business experiences, and we had a great back-and-forth after the talk.

Of course, what’s a presentation without a little tech drama? 😅 We couldn’t get my iPad or phone to connect to the TV, so I presented without slides — and it actually worked out beautifully. Sometimes, the best moments happen when things don’t go as planned.

🎥 I did record the talk, and while I haven’t had the time to go through and edit it just yet, it will be coming sooner rather than later. Stay tuned — I can’t wait to share it with you!

Huge thanks to the Melissa Rotary Club for having me! I left energized and excited for what’s ahead. I’ll definitely be bringing my own screen next time, just in case.

Until the next adventure!
