On May 13th, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Midlothian Rotary Club, delivering a presentation on branding. It was an engaging session where we explored the nuances of personal and business branding. To my delight, I discovered that the club has a heartwarming tradition: they donate a book to the local library in honor of each speaker, complete with a sticker bearing the speaker’s name. In my case, they chose Lady Pancake & Sir French Toast: Mission Defrostable by Josh Funk, illustrated by Brendan Kearney.

This delightful picture book, the third in its series, follows the adventures of Lady Pancake and Sir French Toast as they team up with Agent Asparagus to save their refrigerator from an icy disaster. The story is filled with humor, clever rhymes, and vibrant illustrations that bring the characters to life. It’s a charming tale that not only entertains but also subtly imparts lessons on teamwork and problem-solving.
The choice of this book is particularly fitting, given my fondness for pancakes and French toast. It’s as if the Midlothian Rotary Club knew my breakfast preferences! I’m honored to have my name associated with such a delightful story in the local library.
Thank you, Midlothian Rotary Club, for your warm hospitality and for this thoughtful gesture. It was truly an honor to speak at your club and to be part of your meaningful tradition.
