Behind The Mic

Yesterday was a big day — one I’ve been dreaming about for a little bit. I recorded the very first two episodes of the Wichmann & Co Podcast! 🎙️

To be honest, when I first posted about the podcast about a week ago, I didn’t expect anyone to sign up just yet. After all, the first episode won’t drop until August. But lo and behold, a couple of amazing people did — and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. That little promotion worked, and it gave me the boost I didn’t even know I needed.

Getting ready for these recordings meant making some adjustments to my home office. First up: the desk. I had to pull it out from the wall to hang my backdrop, and I wasn’t sure I’d like the new setup. Spoiler alert — I love it! Plus, it gave me an excuse to deep-clean the desk (which was long overdue, let’s be honest).

Now, full transparency: my computer is hanging on by a thread. It’s an older model, can’t take more RAM, and definitely struggles with some of the heavier software. Add that to the wishlist! As if that wasn’t enough, a couple of weeks ago, Google Chrome decided it was done with me — just straight-up crashed and refused to open. And guess what Riverside.FM, my recording platform, doesn’t play nice with? Safari. Cue panic. But thankfully, I downloaded Microsoft Edge, crossed my fingers… and it worked! Crisis averted. 😅

The actual recordings? So. Much. Fun. Both guests were incredible, and I couldn’t stop smiling afterward. I’ll need to do a bit of editing and polishing, but I’ve got time — the podcast won’t launch until August, and with a bi-weekly schedule, I’ve officially got the whole month of August covered. How amazing is that?

What I wasn’t prepared for was just how tired I’d be after recording. I had every intention of heading to a networking event in Terrell that evening… but by 5 PM, I was in bed and not going anywhere. Lesson learned: no more than two episodes in one day!

And here’s the cherry on top — one of my first guests isn’t even from Texas! I have no idea which Facebook group they found me through, but I’m blown away that the reach is already going beyond state lines. This project is off to a stronger start than I ever expected, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.

My next round of recordings is in two weeks, so I have a little breathing room before diving in again. I’m just so grateful — and genuinely pumped — to bring this podcast to life in the fall.

Here’s to Speak. Connect. Experience. — and all the magic ahead. 💙✨
