Today was a good day. I headed to Forney and joined the Forney Area Networking Group. It’s been a while since I last attended one of their meetings, and a few things have changed. They’ve switched up both their location and their schedule, and they’re now meeting at Mama’s Daughters Diner in Forney on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of the month.

I had never been to Mama’s Daughters Diner before, so this was a fun little adventure for me. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

Today’s meeting was speed networking, which meant quick conversations, lots of energy, and plenty of opportunities to share ideas. I didn’t make any brand-new connections this time, but I had something even better. Since I’m in the middle of “rebranding” and shifting my focus toward Wichmann & Co, this was the perfect opportunity to share my vision for my new adventure and give a little teaser about my upcoming book release in November. It felt amazing to speak it out loud to fellow entrepreneurs and business owners.

And of course, I couldn’t skip the food. I asked the waitress for her recommendation, and she immediately said Chicken Fried Steak. She was absolutely right. The portions were huge, and it was everything you’d expect from a Texas diner—comfort on a plate.

When I stepped outside afterward, I realized Stewart Title was right next door. So I did what any smart networker would do. I popped in to say a quick hello to my friend Deann White Scroggins. Even though I’m not in real estate anymore, it’s always worth taking a moment to catch up with good people.

Networking days like this remind me why I love being part of this community. It’s not just about new business cards or leads. It’s about relationships, shared dreams, and showing up to support one another. And it’s good to be back.
