Life has a way of shifting our plans in unexpected directions—and sometimes, those shifts require tough decisions. After much reflection, I’ve made the incredibly difficult choice to step away from real estate until the fall of this year.
As many of you know, I’ve proudly balanced my full-time EMS career alongside running two businesses, participating in markets, and showing up at networking events—all made possible by a 24/72 schedule that allowed me ample time to pour into my passions. That schedule gave me the flexibility to grow my entrepreneurial ventures while continuing to serve my community in EMS.
However, I’ve recently been moved to a rotating 12-hour shift, which significantly impacts my availability. My new schedule rotates weekly—working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday one week, and Wednesday and Thursday the next—with 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. day shifts. As you can imagine, this leaves little time and energy for the commitments I hold dear outside of EMS.
This new structure is not something I asked for or anticipated, and it has created a level of imbalance that’s simply not sustainable. To protect my energy and honor the high standards I set for serving my real estate clients, I’ve decided to pause my real estate services for now, with every intention of returning in the fall—hopefully with a more balanced schedule.
That said, I’m still moving forward with all previously contracted and scheduled events and speaking engagements, thanks to my employer’s support in allowing me to trade shifts or take time off as needed.
In line with real estate regulations, I’ve also made a change to all my social media handles. You can now find me under @CeciliaWSpeaks across all platforms. If you already follow me, nothing will change on your end—but if you’re new here or want to connect, come find me and follow along!
Please know that this was not an easy decision and certainly not one I made lightly. I am also actively seeking a new full-time or part-time opportunity outside of EMS that offers the flexibility I need to fully pursue my businesses and passion for helping others.
If you know of any leads or openings—or just want to connect—please don’t hesitate to reach out. This is a season of change, not a goodbye.
With love and resilience,
