Another Successful Event!

Last Downtown Forney Market was a great success for Harlequin Tea. We broke the 2024 best sale record and the event went in on second place of all events following British Bash in Terrell last year. So part of me had really high hopes for this event. Yet, I was a little nervous as I had the Terrell Jubilee in the back of my mind that turned out to be a flop.
But the weather was supposed to be good, sunshine with no major winds. So hopefully people would crawl out of their homes and come and support small businesses.

I got there and started to set up my booth. The neighbor had put he table a tad too close to me so I couldn’t fit my tables within my tent. So I had to ask if they could move it just a little. Well, it still didn’t work out for me. I usually can make a space to get out but not today. So I flipped one of the tables to the side instead.

Why has it taken me 1.5 years to do this? I realized that now I can fit one, maybe two more tables in my booth!!! I’m absolutely a slow learner sometimes… good grief! So I am getting me another table for next show!

What I love with this event is that is so well organized! Vicky Cortez with Forney Arts Council and her husband Chico is doing an amazing job putting it together! We are having the same spot every show which helps, it is marked ell so e know where the booths are and it is just easy to follow the rules. On top of that, they are doing great marketing on Social Media and the people that visits are there to support small businesses, not just look, they darn shop!

This time I had enough time to go live and put more out on Social Media than I usually do. I think it was my first live from an event, at least in a very long time. I need to I,prove that. It was quite fun actually.

And once again Downtown Forney Market was a huge success for us. We even broke last month’s sales. That was something I didn’t anticipate. I figured it could be a good event but probably not that good! And I know that other vendors had a great time as well, not just me.

We had a special little guest yesterday… A butterfly 🦋 came and first studied the blend card quite thoroughly and then decided that Raspberry Panache was the choice of the day. It wasn’t even bothered by the customer standing right next to him/her! It was around for several minutes before heading to another booth!

Happy, hot and tired I could start heading back home. But I had one stop to do. Earlier in the day I had a phone call asking if I could help with a notary at 4pm. It was just outside Wills Point and it wouldn’t be a major detour so why not. They were also very happy to get it squared away.

Didn’t think I would have any energy left when I got home. But I wanted to know if my math was right. Did we succeed last Forney event? So I sat down and put it all in QuickBooks. yes we did! With $15! Needless to say, I went to bed with a big smile on my face!

Next event in Forney is June 8th. Before then is Terrell Morning Market on May 25th. So mark your calendars already now!
