I thought all my new “toys” would come next week. I knew the heat press could be here today as it was ordered on Amazon, though not Prime. But it said on the page that it should arrive before 10pm.
I got an email early this morning that the vinyl from Ninja Transfers should be here Monday. And the t-shirts I ordered yesterday are coming Tuesday. So my plans were to play with it on Wednesday when I’m off work.
But to my delight surprise the vinyl transfers made it here today with USPS!!! That was beyond fast! And just a couple of hours later Amazon came with the press, several hours before schedule! My lucky day! So I went to Dollar General and got me two t-shirts to play with. Realized when I got home that the blue had a pocket…. Challenge was on! This was so easy and so much fun. I am not a crafty person really. I like to make stuff to make money on, it’s just the entrepreneur in me.
First I made a T-shirt with Harlequin Tea’s logo (Mr.T. Pots)
I was so pleased with the outcome considering it was my very first try! I can absolutely see why people have started their own businesses with this. It is fun.
Then came the challenge with the pocket. Well, thankfully the little logo I had ordered fits perfectly on the pocket! On the back is a white line. I saw it on the transfer sheet, didn’t think about what it was and that it actually will transfer over to the t-shirt but whatever. It’s not my next official t-shirt, I can wear it on lazy days and at the barn! The rest looks really good!
I am so happy I did this investment. Someone on Facebook said “that must have been an expensive purchase”. On that I would like to say; As a business person I don’t see it as a purchase, I see it as an investment and opportunity. Yes, the press costs $250 to buy. That is a one time cost. I have three companies I make things for, Harlequin Tea, Harlequin International, and myself. I can also do Harlequin Podcast. First and foremost this is bought with the intentions to create a merchandise line for Harlequin Tea. And with having my own press and just have the logo vinyl pre printed in bulk and buy the apparel and do it myself will not only make it possible to create more, but shorten both the time and cost. In my budget, this machine will be paid for within a year. And that’s how you have to look at it in business. On top of all this, if someone wants me to help them with their merch, even though I won’t advertise about it, I wouldn’t mind to help.
Learning more about this also makes me realize that the possibilities are certainly endless!
