Until The Rain Came

I wasn’t sure about yesterday’s event to be honest. I knew it was a last minute thing from the organizers, LaNeis Bakehouse and the weather could be a little iffy. But I didn’t have anything planned and there was no cost for the booth so I had absolutely nothing to loose. Alarm set and off to Ben Wheeler I went.

My suspicions was somewhat correct. We were only 5 vendors there plus the KMOO 99.9 & KWJB 95.1 radio station. But we had a lot of fun together and we all got to be on the air on both radio stations and that was a HUGE advertising opportunity for us. It was awesome! Not every day you get to advertise for your business for several minutes at no cost. And they mentioned Harlequin Tea several times in between as well! I was so grateful!

From the beginning I didn’t have much expectations to sell anything. The clouds kept people at home and I completely understand that. If I wouldn’t have had a booth, I’m not sure I would have gotten out of my house either! But to my surprise I actually had a couple of sales! At least to the point that I felt it was absolutely worth being there today.

We were supposed to be there until 5pm but the weather had another idea about that. At 1:30pm the rain started pouring down. And I mean POURING. We thought we were going to be able to ride it out but then we heard the thunder in the distance and that was a no no for all of us. We all tried to pack up as fast as we could to save our products and get out of the rain! I am so grateful to DJ Ken staying after he packed up his gear and helped us other vendors get our stuff loaded in our vehicles. That was so kind!

A huge thanks to LaNeis Bakehouse for having us today! Despite few vendors and gloomy weather I had a great day! I will absolutely be back next year if they choose to do it again. And that chocolate thing in the pictures… still trying to digest it… its called Death By Chocolate… say no more!

Also a huge thanks to DJ Ken & Susanne at KMOO/KWJB for having me and the other vendors on air! Thank you for making the day so fun, y’all are absolutely hilarious, both of you! See you in Wills Point in a couple of weeks!
